SF's digital service chief logs off

San Francisco Chief Digital Services Officer Carrie Bishop announced Monday she will depart city government in March, following a five-year stint as the leader of a digital services team she said is bigger than any other U.S. city's. “Five years is a good run,” she said. “It’s time for me to go on a new adventure and take a different path.” She also said she hopes the city can pick up some of the digital technology projects the pandemic put on hold. New York AG turns up 1.1 million compromised accounts

A months-long investigation into credential stuffing attacks by the New York attorney general’s office found credentials for more than 1.1 million online accounts at 17 major retailers, restaurant chains and food delivery services in internet forums, the agency announced Wednesday. Each of the unnamed companies was notified and took steps to protect impacted customers, the AG’s office said. CyberScoop's AJ Vicens reports.

North Dakota to the moon?

North Dakota Chief Information Officer Shawn Riley told StateScoop Monday that states should focus on tangible, public-facing projects to demonstrate the utility of technologies like blockchain, smart contracts and non-fungible tokens in government. Riley, who's also advising his brother's cryptocurrency startup, said blockchain has an “amazing” amount of potential applications in state government. Read more.
