Steve Davidek stepped into the information technology world in 1981, and in 1984 started working as a computer operator for the City of Sparks, Nevada, on an HP3000 Series III Mini Computer. Over the last 35 years, Steve has helped lead information technology initiatives that include storage area network designs and enhancements, virtualization of more than 95 percent of the servers, desktop virtualization, networking upgrades including Gigabyte to the desktop and Gigabyte Wi-Fi. Steve has been involved in the HP/HPE user community since 1985 starting as secretary for the local High Sierra User Group. He was on the Board of Directors of Connect Worldwide, the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Technology User Group, from 2008 to 2015. He was president of Connect Worldwide in 2012 and 2013. Steve has been the IT manager for the City of Sparks since March of 2014 and is retiring October 2019.
