Pensacola, Florida, cyberattack is ransomware, officials confirm

Officials in Pensacola, Florida, said Tuesday that a cyberattack against the city's IT systems was the result of ransomware, a day after declining to specify the exact nature of the attack. Municipal employees' emails have been restored in a limited capacity, as have phone lines, but other systems are still being assessed. Meanwhile, the FBI said there is no connection between the cyberattack and shooting last week at a nearby U.S. Navy air station in Pensacola. Benjamin Freed reports
