Theresa Szczurek steps down as Colorado's CIO

After more than a year-and-a-half as the state’s top technology official, Colorado Chief Information Officer Theresa Szczurek will step down next month. She told StateScoop she's not sure where she's headed next, but that she considers her work with the Colorado state government — which included advancements in its customer service and the hiring of several key positions within the technology organization — complete. “I came in, did what was needed to be done and now it’s time for me to move on. I sort of think of myself as a turnaround specialist, and I think that’s what the governor had in mind," she said. Colin Wood has more on her work in Colorado the past 20 months.

Eviction resources for New Yorkers

According to one estimate, the pandemic's economic effects have placed 1.5 million New Yorkers at risk of eviction. To help New York City renters avoid that outcome or navigate the process if it's already happened, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a new online portal Monday that centralizes virtually all of the city’s tenant-protection services. The new “tenant resource portal” guides users that have eviction-related questions through a short survey to personalize the city or community resources that can help them. Ryan Johnston has more.
