During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, New York officials are educating the public on technology's role in mitigating and supporting abuse.

The company said it's also offering discounted service plans as part of the city's agenda to support the independence of those affected by domestic violence.

The state announced $1.5 million in federal funding to help 89 organizations throughout the state improve their digital services.
