Computer systems tied into the city's Muni public transportation lines were infected by ransomware over the weekend, prompting the city to offer riders free service Saturday.

“You no longer have to have exact change of .25 to ride Muni”, said a spokesman for San Francisco's Municipal Transportation Agency.
