The Texas Department of Information Resources released its strategic plan for 2014 to 2018 last month in a document that highlights the top 10 technology priorities that will affect decisions in the state over the next five years.

The Texas Department of Information Resources released its strategic plan for 2014 to 2018 last month in a document that highlights the top 10 technology priorities that will affect decisions in the state over the next five years.

The 10 priorities include: security and privacy, cloud services, legacy modernization, business continuity, enterprise planning and collaboration, IT workforce, virtualization, data management, mobility and network.

“While technology is a rapidly changing environment, we believe these priorities provide the greatest opportunities to enhance the relationship between government and citizens in Texas,” wrote Karen Robinson, Texas chief information officer.
