North Dakota hires new chief customer success officer
North Dakota Chief Information Officer Shawn Riley on Friday named Evonne Amundson, a business analyst manager in the state Information Technology Department, as the state’s new chief customer success officer.
Amundson, who was a director at a health software company before joining NDIT last October, will be tasked with integrating technology into the state’s business procedures when she begins her new role Oct. 1. In a press release, Admunson said she will adopt the state’s “holistic” strategy of people, process and technology to assist the state’s customers, who have come to expect the same level of service from government and the private sector.
“We have a strong foundation for the Customer Success division bringing the voice of the customer to state government, my goal is to build upon that foundation, grow partnerships with our agencies and help provide modern technology solutions to our citizens,” she said. “The citizens of North Dakota expect the same technology experience with state government interactions as they do with private companies. This expectation has been amplified in the last year and a half as the pandemic impacted how citizens interact every day with organizations and companies.”
She also said the COVID-19 pandemic provided an opportunity for the state to accelerate digital transformation efforts that improve customer experiences.
Amundson will be replacing Jeff Hensel, North Dakota’s first customer success officer, who assumed the role in June 2020. Hensel took that job while on “civic leave” from his job as a service modernization director with Microsoft, where he is still employed.
