CGI awarded $89 million contract for State of Michigan ERP modernization project

CGI today announced its selection as the  technology partner for the state of Michigan’s major Enterprise Resource Planning system modernization, a $89.4 million project that will provide the technology services required to deliver on the state’s goals of becoming one of the most innovative, efficient and responsive governments in the country.

Selected as the best value for Michigan in a full and open procurement, CGI will deploy a proven, built-for-government solution – CGI Advantage — to improve business processes, enhance efficiency and improve overall administration for the state’s executive, legislative, and judicial branch organizations. In Michigan, CGI will also deploy its Managed Advantage cloud model to host, operate, maintain, and upgrade the state’s ERP systems.

“We completed a thorough and comprehensive competitive bid process for our ERP implementation and we feel very confident that CGI is the right provider for Michigan,” said Ruth Schwartz, ERP project director for the state of Michigan.  “With a joint evaluation committee that included 200 advisors from across state government, we collectively agreed that the CGI solution provides the best value for Michigan with the power to transform government for the good of all.”

“CGI has unrivalled experience with projects of this size and scope, having successfully delivered hundreds of government ERP systems that today manage $700 billion in disbursements and serve more than 93 million citizens nationwide,” said Dave Henderson, senior vice president at CGI.  “As a trusted partner of state and local governments across the country, CGI looks forward to the successful deployment of an effective ERP system for the state of Michigan.

CGI has more than 37 years of ERP software and service delivery for federal, state and local governments, and has implemented more than 400 government ERP systems, including those in Massachusetts, Kentucky, Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado and West Virginia. Recently, six of the last seven states to move forward with ERP modernizations chose CGI as their technology partner, and two of the nation’s most populous local jurisdictions — New York City and Los Angeles County – also utilize ERP systems powered by CGI.

“We are very proud of our selection as Michigan’s technology partner for their critical ERP modernization,” said Daniel Keene, senior vice president of CGI’s Advantage Program. “Through effective collaboration and use of the industry’s most innovative technologies, CGI and the state will work together to improve systems and processes to better serve the people of Michigan.”
