Inside Kansas’ approach to artificial intelligence
On this week’s Priorities podcast, two Kansas technology officials say their state is preparing for the embrace of artificial intelligence as they take on big priorities, like cybersecurity and digital services. Mark Abraham, Kansas’s deputy chief information security officer, says he’s been using AI to help map the state’s cyber environment as it moves toward a “defense-in-depth” approach to cybersecurity. Alex Wong, Kansas’s chief information technology architect, says the state is in the education phase of preparing the state’s workforce for AI. In September, Kansas released a generative AI policy that offered guidelines for agencies. Also on the podcast, Maryland’s new CISO, Greg Rogers, shares how his state is tackling cybersecurity.
